If one were to mention a spa town near L.A., one could not leave out Desert Hot Springs. It is a highly popular recreational area, and many hotels line the streets. Desert Hot Springs Most spa towns in the U.S. tend to desolate, but those in the suburbs of Los Angeles are a different story. Desert Hot Springs is a large resort with more than 20 spa hotels. Indoor pool with Buddha statue Nurturing Nest was a small motel with a total of seven rooms. Unobtrusive appearance like an ordinary private house. The room was small, reminiscent of an old-style motel, and I was surprised that there was not even a TV in the room. Indian Springs Bath House (Truth or Consequences) - Hot Springs in New Mexico

I love Indian Hot Springs Bath House the best among all spa facilities in Truth or Consequences. It has only two indoor private pools. The primitive and rustic atmosphere made me feel spiritual affluence. Larger private pool An old motel, Langford Tourist Courts, began the business in the 1930s, and changed the name to Indian Hot Springs Bath House. Lodgers get two free half-hour baths per day. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come / first-served basis, which is $4.00 per person for a half-hour soak (as of this writing). The office is located across from the ‘40s-style efficiency apartments. When parking in the lot, the host appeared, and accepted the cash. Next to the office, there is the shack of private pools. The left one is larger, and the right one is smaller. First, I tried Large bath. Baths are mostly natural-flow, straight out of the ground, so the rooms are located underground. The half of the bathroom is the dressing space, and the tub is in the opposite side of the wooden bench. The tub accommodates four people. The water temp was 106 degrees F. Crystal clear water is constantly gushing from the gravel-bottom. I was deeply impressed by the perfect atmospheric bath. Essence of Tranquility - Hot Springs in Arizona

Just a two-hour drive from Tucson, Arizona, was a spa facility with the philosophical name, Essence of Tranquility. It was an unusual spot, full of handcrafted touches. Quiet campground The campground, which draws thermal water, had such an unassuming appearance that you might accidentally pass by it. Rates are $15 per person for up to one hour and $35 for up to three hours (as of this writing). Pulling the bell string attached to the wall, the owner appeared. And before that, I was greeted by a cute guard dog. The first thing I saw on the grounds was a communal outdoor pool where clothing was required. The water temp was the warmest of all the pools, around 99 degrees F. The water quality was excellent, with a sufficient amount of water input. Although the water was clear and colorless, it had a salty taste in the mouth, and I found that it warmed the body well. There were a total of five private baths, and the water temp was a moderate 102-106 degrees F. They were all indoor pool in simple huts, but I was able to freely come and go during my stay, which was set at one hour, to find the space of my choice. After two and a half-hour drive east of San Diego, I came upon a picturesque oasis of palm trees in the dry Imperial Valley. The water that was gushing there unbeknownst to people was a warm spring. Salvation Mountain Today Salvation Mountain is one of the most famous tourist spots all over the world. It is said that Leonard Knight (who died in 2014) spent 30 years living in this strange truck and created it all by himself. Initially, it was only an illegal building, but in 2002, its uniqueness and artistry were publicly recognized and it was registered as a state cultural asset. Salvation Mountain is a veritable oasis in the desert, filled with extreme colors and religious messages. Sinking pond A 40-minute drive from Salvation Mountain, a real oasis of lush palm trees appeared. You have to pass through a desert covered with silky sand to get to the oasis, and if you accidentally park your car, you risk getting stuck. The maximum temperature in the Imperial Valley is over 100 degrees F in the summer, so getting stuck is a matter of life and death. Riverbend Hot Springs is one of the popular hot springs inns at Truth or Consequences. Small private pools Less than two hours drive north from El Paso, Texas.
