A wild hot spring that inspires feelings of awe.
At the point where the water flows downstream from the source, the water, which boasts an incredibly high flow rate, has become the perfect temperature for soaking.
Baltazor Hot Springs
State Route 140 crosses the sparsely populated northern part of Nevada.
From the area around the city of Winnemucca, which is located along Interstate 80, head north and turn west at Denio Junction.

Baltazor Hot Springs is a place where you can see the old structure from the state road, and it is located on private land.
There was a sign saying “No Entry”, so I just watched from a distance.
100% Geothermal Water

If you come to Baltazor Hot Springs, it's less than 20 minutes drive to Bog Hot Springs.

Bog Hot Springs is also located on private land, but it is open to the public free of charge.

There was a large car park downriver from the sources.
Overnight camping is not allowed.

Apart from the equipment used to load water onto the trucks, no other special structures were found.
The water is said to be used for raising livestock and watering hay.

The hot spring flows in a deep trench carved into the ground next to the car park.

The temperature in this area is suitable for soaking, and it is still 108 degrees F.
I was surprised at how hot it was.

It was varied, with some parts dammed and some parts expanded.

The sources are located about 0.3 miles upstream, and you can drive right up to them.

The water flowing in the ditch is 100% pure geothermal, and it does not mix with water from any other rivers.

The temperature just gradually rises towards the sources.

The lowest part of Bog Hot Springs is a reservoir, and it is possible to soak in the water for about 0.6 miles from the geothermal area to the reservoir, depending on the season.

The geothermal area was filled with the smell of gas, and the water was gushing up from the bottom of the pond, which was colored by hot spring algae, with a force that made it look as if it were boiling.
A huge flow of 3,800 liters per minute.

The water temp near the sources was 127 degrees F.
Soaking was impossible by all accounts.

That said, you can't talk about Bog Hot Springs without seeing the source area.
I was lost for words at the sight, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe for nature.
